FAQs: How to recognize an authentic AIA Document

An authentic AIA Document can be identified by the following –

 

• Documents generated via the online service:

Header:

  1. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) “eagle” symbol located in the upper left corner of the document.

Footer: 

  1. The time and date of when the document was finalized
  2. The document order number
  3. The license expiry date in the footer
  4. A unique checksum number in the footer – there are two types of checksum depending on the types of documents used – either an 8-digit alphanumeric or a 9-digit number.
