An authentic AIA Document can be identified by the following –
• Documents generated via the online service:
Header:
- The American Institute of Architects (AIA) “eagle” symbol located in the upper left corner of the document.
Footer:
- The time and date of when the document was finalized
- The document order number
- The license expiry date in the footer
- A unique checksum number in the footer – there are two types of checksum depending on the types of documents used – either an 8-digit alphanumeric or a 9-digit number.
